| About us |
| How it has begun…
Love and sympathy have led us to this legendary story of our lives and theirs since 1997.
The first cat we had was abandoned when his owners, one of our neighbors, moved to live somewhere else. He was almost starving to death and some mean people just beat him for no reasons. We felt sorry for the cat, so we welcome him to our house and let him stay there, not to wander around and get beaten again. We even let him share our bed (we made sure that our bed was clean even if we had him with us). We welcome him even if my wife has an asthma.
Thongkam, the cat, behaves himself very well. As a result, we open our heart and our home to all unfortunate cats we have met: be it pregnant, injured, or beaten until now, July 2009.
Now there are 160 cats and dogs in our house, which is well fenced. We save their lives and take good care of them. As a result, our monthly expense has increased dramatically from a few hundreds baht to many thousands baht until now more than 30,000 baht. All these past 12 years, we have spent almost all our saving money and income. We had to sell some stuffs in order to have enough money to support them. We need to buy medicines and food for them to survive. And the number of these cats and dogs is rising which is a very heavy task.
We dedicate our time to take care of them. We make sure that they are clean of flees and worms. We have all of them emasculated. And we always make sure that the new comers are without any infectious diseases before leaving them in the same area with the others. It is certainly a hard job for 2 old folks like us. We do it out of love, working from dawn till dusk. If any night we could sleep at least 6 hours without having to wake up, that is more than a bless. We have neither weekends, nor holidays, nor vacations. Leaving our house at the same time is not possible for the two of us and we have forgotten what it is like to dine out together because we just can not leave our animals alone. Some might fight each other and get severe wounds. Some are already ill and wounded and need us, or at least one of us, to take care of them. We do not want to enjoy a very short moment and come back to see that one of them die. We just can’t let it happen. We love them and are willing to sacrifice our happiness for them. We feel like they are parts of our family. And this is the reason why this website is called Allforthem.org. It is because all we have been doing since the past 12 years is for them.
From our experience, we see that all the bad things that happen to these animals are from human, be it intentionally or not. Sometimes, these animals are used as tools to fulfill human’s cruelty: targets for a gun practice slingshot practice. We have found some animals with bullets under their skin. Some were beaten up until their eyeballs popped while some were slashed badly.
My wife and I want to stop these inhumane activities. We use our experience and try to persuade other people to be merciful towards those unfortunate animals. They also have lives. They can feel. They can love. When someone cut them with a knife, they hurt…just like us. We also want children to share their love to animals and to be responsible for the unspeakable lives they own. Animals aren’t toys that the children can throw away when they are not as cute as when they were young.
Beside, this website wants to be a center where animal’s owners can talk and share their experience. They can ask for help when their animals are lost. They can also ask for their animals’ mates. We can share our knowledge. It’s a place where veterinarians can give advice on animal’s health. It’s a place where animal’s owners can chat and post their animal’s pictures or even mourn for the death of their animals.
If you feel like helping the unfortunate animals at my place, you may kindly click at “Donation”. Your money can help many stray cats and dogs. We are more than thankful for your good heart.
If there’s any improvement you think this website needs, please feel free to drop a line. Thank you for visiting our website.
